Hi Brandon,

We haven't really used the white coatings ourselves - only once for a repair, but did not actually coat the roof. Check out these pics: http://www.coolflatroof.com/gallery.php?n=bellma - From what I know you want to use the Urethane coating, and not the acrylic. Here is why: Acrylic is more like a paint whereas urethane is more of a roof - when you apply it you end up with about 30 mils of coating which is sufficient to last 10-15 years.

Of course you need to do your own research into the matter as I may be wrong :) and there are too many manufacturers to say which one is good.

One thing you definitely need to take care of - when you apply these liquid roofs, the substrate must be REALLY clean. I would not apply them to any kind of asphaltic or bituminous surface, as it will destroy the coating. Basically once you choose the manufacturer, go through the installation with their rep. and technical guy, when you get the first job.

Good luck.

Hello, my name is Brandon and I have a couple of questions that you may be able to answer. I am currently in school to get my CSL and am looking at getting into the cool roof biz. My questions are as follows, First i was wondering if you have used the white roofing paints? And second, if you have used them what are your opinions as far as quality, durability, workability, costs? I have decided to get into this business because of Obama and Chu's "paint the roof white" campaign. It seems as if the gov't is going to be providing large incentives for cool roof tech's. Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated!!!
                      Thanks a bunch! Brandon
